Climate Change and Renewable Energy Generation in Europe—Long-Term Impact Assessment on Solar and Wind Energy Using High-Resolution Future Climate Data and Considering Climate Uncertainties

چکیده
Climate change can strongly affect renewable energy production. The state of the art in projecting future generation has focused on using regional climate prediction. However, prediction is characterized by inherent uncertainty due to complexity models. This work provides a comprehensive study quantify impact uncertainties potential over five zones Europe. Thirteen scenarios, including global models (GCMs) and three representative concentration pathways (RCPs), are downscaled RCA4 model (RCM) 90 years (2010–2099), divided into 30-year periods. Solar wind production projected considering short-/long-term variations seven cities (Narvik, Gothenburg, Munich, Antwerp, Salzburg, Valencia, Athens). results showed that caused GCMs most substantial generation. GCM selection become even larger than long-term time. lead 23% 45% projection differences for solar PV potential, respectively. While signal radiation weak between scenarios time, affected 25%.

Combating Climate Change: The Role of Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency
Climate change and its possible impacts on the environment and socio-economic systems now constitute the most important environmental problem facing mankind in the 21st century. Global temperatures have increased in the past 100 years by an average of 0.74°C (IPCC, 2013), with minimum temperatures increasing faster than maximum temperatures and winter temperatures increasing faster than summer temperatures (IPCC, 2013). Total annual rainfall tends to increase at the higher latitudes and near the equator, while rainfall in the sub-tropics is likely to decline and become...

متن کاملAnalysis and Optimization using Renewable Energies to Get Net-Zero Energy Building for Warm Climate
Due to low energy price, economic optimization of consumption has no justification for users in Iran. Nowadays, the issue of ending fossil fuels, production of greenhouse gases and the main role of building in consumption of considerable amount of energy has drawn the focus of global researches to a new concept called net zero energy building. In this study, modeling, simulation and energy anal...
متن کاملConstraining Uncertainties in Climate Models Using Climate Change Detection Techniques
Different atmosphere-ocean general circulation models produce significantly different projections of climate change in response to increases in greenhouse gases and aerosol concentrations in the atmosphere. The main reasons for this disagreement are differences in the sensitivities of the models to external radiative forcing and differences in their rates of heat uptake by the deep ocean. In th...
